Mostly I try to motivate students to finish their next assignments "work" on time by relating the assignment to real life job or task. If you are late finishing your task for the project you will loose your job.

I was afraid it might not be interesting to students. My worst was if it is too complicated

Actually there are different sources for videos for learning and teaching purposes such as Khan academy and youtube. Of course there are other sources based on the feild of study that are appropriate for instructors and students at the same time.
