With respect to stress......What do the rest of you do when dealing with a student that is stressed out only when taking a test?

Stress

I think stress should be addressed by more than the instructor and the councilors. Stress is something that is everywhere but many do not understand how to manage it or reduce it. Stress relief can be minimized by laughter or exercise , but many schools don't bother with programs that would support these things.

Retention

I find that if you show some positive interest in the students as well as a strong presentation of the subject matter you will have better retention overall. Students respone well to a caring leader, as long as the instructor knows the professional limits.
