I'm Aida Diaz. I have been teaching for over twenty years and still find it fun!! I have been teaching at AIU since last July and truly have enjoyed the experience. I find the professional development offered by Max Knowledge an excellent resource and look forward to learning more.

I too took this course and found it very rewarding. I would also recommend EL 102. It has excellent information for a new instructor but also good reminders for those of us who have been teaching for a while. It reinforces many things we may already do.

@FRobinson : I'm in the process of completing this course but I have found it very interesting. I also find listening to the information again helps keep you focus on your true mission: helping the students. Sometimes with a large class this can be difficult but you do your best to help the students.
Students sometimes think it is easier to take online classes not realizing that Time Management is critical. I do an activity with the students on the first Live Chat re: the number of hours there are in a week and everything we try to do during that week. Students are always surprised to see time going into the negative.
It always ends up taking time from studying in order to be able to complete the other things on the To Do list.
My background is in teaching and I still enjoy learning about new techniques or even repeating old information. Many times it confirms what I'm doing is on the right track or it shows me a new twist to try in the classroom. This is especially true with online learning. I love it!!!

I agree. As you move around the classroom and listening to the conversations, you can interject a positive note or two. I would then share with the whole class several of the comments I overheard and invite more comments from the entire group.
