Activity

Simulations and games need to be realistic and focused on specific areas.  This can be time consuming and  support is needed

Blending problem based learning with real life situations.  Having students

use their phones to reasearch spur of the moment real life situations

and then reporting on them in class time, was an eye opener at a new

technique.

I have learned new terminology including "reverse instruction" and "flipped classroom".  I have beem using these

two techniques, but did not have the terminology.  in the future on the onset of the class, I will share with the students

the teaching styles I am ultizing.

Active learning is a transformative shift from some student thinking education is a "retail model: I pay for my schooling and you give me a degree".  Students are required to be active participants in the learning process through problem solving and getting away from "teach to the test" concepts.  Lastly the importance of professors and students to have the tools required including technology tools, communication and a good internet connection.

Active learning is a transistion with a focus on students taking responsible for

their learning expereince and the teacher being a supportive participant in this journey.

I like the saying "it is not transitioning information but transforming".

New modes of learning and teaching are presenting in the transformation process.

The different roles the professor has and how to support students

EIther way of providng a learning it is important to communicate in various types of method.

Different tools which can be used and different teaching styles to create a learning environment
