In a vocational school such as I teach in,we go through a class in three weeks,transitioning from one learning to anouther with 30 students.What can I do to better gage individual learning in such a fast paced inviornment?

Vocational training happens so fast for the student and as instructors we need to give positive influince to our students by giveing them a sense of accomplishment every day,and the feeling of success in every project they perform.

baby steps

In addition to the meet and greet on the first day,I like to demonstrate a simple process on the first day,and have the entire class practice while I observe,and make myself available for assistance and reinforcement of the activeity.This provides early value in the learning process,as well as a way for me to get to know everyone in the class,and where they are in the learning process.

first class meeting

Even after prepareing for the first meeting with the class,I find a high percentage of my students do not keep the info available,and I end up with the same questions anyway.
