About me

I am dedicated lifelong learner. I, hold a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from Universidad Central Del Este. My journey in medicine is fueled by a passion for patient care, patient education and a profound curiosity for understanding the intricate workings of the human body. My commitment to the medical field extends beyond the clinic, as I identify as a philomath—a lover of learning—who continuously seeks knowledge in various disciplines.

With specialized training in both English and Spanish. I have honed my skills by utilizing one simple method: "the simplest solution is to keep it simple". As I have learned that the best approach to a problem is to avoid complexity and stick to straightforward methods or ideas. By focusing on simplicity, you can eliminate unnecessary complications, which often leads to clearer thinking and more effective outcomes. My clinical experience encompasses a diverse array of settings, where I've developed a strong foundation in patient counseling.

In addition to my non-profit for malnourished children, I have a keen interest in medical research, public health & health technology. I have contributed to volunteer work, which reflects my dedication to advancing the field of medicine and improving community health.

Outside of medicine, I am enthusiastic about hiking, reading, traveling, music & art, which allows me to maintain a balanced lifestyle and foster connections with diverse individuals. My ability to communicate effectively and empathetically serves me well in both my personal and professional relationships.

Ultimately, my goal is to continue expanding my knowledge, improving my skills, and making a meaningful impact on the lives of my patients, students and anyone I come across while inspiring others to appreciate the beauty of learning throughout life.

It's all about adding a lil of this and lil of that to each class to ensure that one's class remains full of possibilities and options to keep it running smoothly!

I like the T Shirt Idea! Very Classy!

The Dots gave me a good idea and I will look at how I can incorporate. Possibly with training, when new students arrive and having students in class that have completed certain tasks. This could be very beneficial!

This was very interesting & in my opinion; very beneficial!

I have always believed that we, as educators are always learning! As I constantly tell my team. "The only thing that I know for certain, is that I know nothing at all" ~ Socrates... Learning is something that we do naturally when we speak. See, when we are speaking, we are teaching, but subconsciously we are regurgitating knowledge that we have learned and are reaffirming and in a small way, by re-explaining it, we are ensuring that we comprehend what we are saying! So, this is leading to self-education and education as a whole. I think anyone that educates, understands… >>>

There are definitely good choices here, that can be applied in all sorts of manners. From Simple class instruction to clinical learners. I happen to teach all and realize that we can set up situations to help bring our learners out of the shell and also unite more advanced learners to work together in teams. Will definitely apply all of them, but will have to be selective when it comes to clinical classes, as I feel that it should only be applied in certain situations and not in a manner that is given every week!

I teach online and in person. I think many of these tools are for in person learning. But can be tweaked for online learning! Throwing the ball is a good way to summarize in the eyes of the learner. This also helps better understand what the student is understanding and gives you feedback as to how your information is being received by students; in general.

Wash Rinse and Repeat, The Repeat cycle should go on several times and at least 6 times to ensure that the knowledge has been captured!
