Delivery has to be top notch when explaining content to students. In return they will learn the importance of delivery in their career path when working with their peers and leaders. Clear communication and precise information will keep students engaged and motivated to learn. When the instructor brings high energy into the classroom, the students feel the tone being set for the lecture. Developing different delivery styles is important to reach a variety of students in how they learn.

I practice these activities with new classes. I have the students introduce themselves, why they chose the class and do you they have expectations or a goal for the class. I learn the class names quickly by taking attendance, repeating their name and observing during the first two days to make each student familiar.  Great activity suggestions to create team involvement and making students comfortable in a new class.

Being prepared brings success. When an instructor is prepared, engaged and ready to deliver content those actions speak loud to students.  As an instructor its important to have written lists to ensure all content is delivered to students. Learning students names, engaging before and after class develop relationships where students feel heard and seen. Creates a safe space for learning.

I enjoyed this portion. I am a firm believer in modeling professional behavior for students to admire and hopefully follow. I have insight on how to break down what professionalism looks like and what it contains. I observe students knowing this word but struggling to define and model it. I will be using better tools to explain this part of becoming a career minded person.

I practice these tools in the classroom. I will adopt the idea of further explaining professionalism with students, great ideas to dissect the word and actions behind professionalism. Incorporating additional tools to make content comprehensive and approachable, using technology as learning tools. I honor the idea of instructors staying current with the trends of our industry to deliver fresh material.

The importance of an instructor having a rubric to follow when delivering instruction. Emphasizing the importance of teamwork, flexibility and adapting to different styles of individuals. Encouraging proper health standards and practices, and when employees carry a certification for these standards adds value to the employer and safety of guests.

The hospitality / culinary sector is a mind, body, spirit business. Instructors need training relating to students, meeting them where they are and finding ways to break down principles and how to apply them in the kitchen and the dining room. The importance of calculating product usage or waste that impacts the business at a profit level.

This module has re-enforced the importance of treating students with an individual mindset to ensure they are comprehending the material. I have learned the correct vocabulary word for "hands-on-learning"
