About me

Activity

My leadership approach is centered around fostering a collaborative and inclusive environment. I believe in leading by example, demonstrating integrity, and maintaining open lines of communication. By actively listening to team members and valuing their input, I ensure that everyone feels heard and respected. Additionally, I focus on setting clear goals and providing the necessary support and resources to achieve them. This approach not only drives team success but also encourages personal and professional growth among team members.

One way that we measure student mastery in our welding shcool is having the students take a welder qualification test. These weld tests require that the welder have mastered certain techniques and knowledge of welding in order to be able to pass them.

I have applied the information learned from this lesson by purchasing a high tech camera that allows the students to have the same view as myself when I'm demonstrating correct techniques and wanting all my students to see specific things associated with welding.

I have come to learn over the short couple of years that I have been an instructor that having impactful lessons developed and integrated has grealty improved the engavement of the students in the classroom and the lab.

Having Effective and efficient instructional strategies put in place plays a huge rol in how develop your questions to evaluate the effectiveness of the material that you are presenting to your classroom. Executing the planning step when developing your questions will greatly increase the strength in those questions and result in better evaluation of the students learning.

Discussion Comment

I do agree with the listen, listen, listen but what if you don't have access to the best in your field? I think sometimes you have to make the best from what you have and as leaders you might find yourself doing that more than expected.
