Activity

It takes multiple evaluations from multiple sources in order to close the loop and make your course better.

Feedback is crucial to student learning.

Rubrics are a great way to grade an assessment beccause it labels the objective and the criteria needed to obtain the highest grade.

I have learned that is important to have a dynamic syllabus that students have access to. Also that scaffolding instruction is important to help students build their knowledge by using previous knowledge and instruction.

Discussion Comment

I have learned that the layout and design of each module should be consistant. Also that it will be very beneficial to me as the instructor to develop a database of my resources so that I can quickly locate and reuse as needed.

I learned that it is very important to be organized and have a system for keeping up with student assignments, discussions, etc.

It is also important to be aware of the differnt types of learners and how to effectively handle each one.

Asynchronous discussions are important to engage students on topics being learned and provide each student opportunity to express their opinion. It is important to encourage all learners and pull them into the conversation.

Synchronous discussions are better with one student or with a small group.

I learned that it is important to post a biography so you can establish your authority by listing your academic and professional accomplishments. I believe it is also important to post some of your interests and hobbies so that your students can know you better and to help build relationships.

I think the suggestion to have students post their biography on Day One is also a great idea, therefore you can get to know your students.

I have learned that it is important to have considered all aspects of the course before you begin such as assignments, due dates, can they retake quizzes and test, time frame for taking quizees and test, etc.

Also since students often feel more comfortable in this format it may open up better and broader discussuons.
