Student- centered learning and communication are key parts in student education.

Understanding that outside factors can be challenges for students, and as an instructor it my job to help to encourage the student and guide them.

It is important to remember you students all learn differently. So, changing your delivery method is through out the class is a great way to ensure all of your students are learning.

Introducing yourself and your expectations of the class and how things will operate allows your students to get a feel for who you are. It is also important to have your students introduce themselves as well so you can learn their names, pronunciations as well as any nick names they may want to use. 

Hold yourself to the same standard you hold your students to. Always be prepared and on-time, if you are not prepared or on-time how can you expect your students to be?

To be aware that you are being watched by your students and you need to present yourself in a professional manner. Also, you can be friendly with your students but don't be their "pal". 

This section made more aware of how important it is to identify before releasing information. 

Making sure good security measures are active is just as important and making sure files personal information is behind locked doors. 

Understanding FERPA is very important and necessary and if you are unsure err on the side of caution when disclosing information.

Basically FERPA is similar to HIPPA . Keep everything private and only release information after verification has been made that the individual asking for the information has permission to have the information.
