Thus far, I've learned that there are MANY more factors than I first realized that will need to be considered in order to design/develop optimal gaming and/or simulation experiences for learners.
I've taught online for many years but this class (so far) has me rethinking the way I am delivering information. I am not certain I'm designing courses that engage ALL students. Need to work on that.
It's rare that I get as much out of a course as I'm getting out of this one. I already have a ton of ideas about better ways to connect with and motivate my learners.
Some of the take-aways I intend to take action on are:
- Wikis for learners to share findings/resources
- Facebook group or maybe a Slack channel so that DQs can feel more conversational
- Improving the specificity, meaningfulness, and timeliness of feedback
- Delivering content in even more ways than I currently do so every learner's style is addressed
- Remind.com is a great idea
- More gamification opportunities for learners … >>>
