I work in Financial Aid, and most of this course focused on other departments in the school...this was enlightening for me. It was nice to see the other departments through the eyes of the COMTA standards and see just how much thought, planning, and organization goes into the educational aspects of our programs. I am just a small piece of this puzzle...a tiny gear in this machine; and all together we (all the departments) make this school a functioning entity.

I think that depends on what the multiple jobs are. For instance, in the financial aid field (my field), the same person that awards aid cannot be the same person that disburses aid to the students - so this would be a two-person job. And there are other guidelines for husband/wife teams who work in financial aid. You would have to contact the USDE or check the financial aid handbook for further details. Basically, if the multiple jobs that a person is doing would normally cause a conflict of interest, then more than one person should share those responsibilities ex.… >>>
