Activity

It was valuable to learn of all the different types of student behaviors in the e-learning environment.

I have learned that I should send students emails asking them how the course is going and if there is anything I am doing that they don't like.

I learned how to create my bio, and ask students how to introduce themselves so that we can all get to know each other and build relationship.

It is great to have an understanding of the full course structure, even though most colleges I teach for do not allow instructors access to many of these features.

Critical thinking skills need to be developed in the classroom using group/collaborative assignments.

I need to learn five active learning tools to use in my online classroom.

I have learned that I need to break up video instruction into short 15-minutes segments so as not to overwhelm students.

Active learning changes the role of the instructor from sage on the stage to guide on the side.  It may take students and instructors time to adjust to their new roles. Students need to be more involved and engaged in the classroom.  They can't just sit and zone out.  Instructors need to disengage, allowing students to participate in their learning process.
