I will take this into consideration if I am ever required to create an assessment.

I enjoy both formal and informal methods of assessment.  Informal assessments more so, because it allows for dialogue in depth about the topic at hand.  You can really gauge someone's understanding better by asking questions but also hearing what questions they have.

Questioning leaves the lecture up for determining understanding through assumption development.  I enjoy this method because by posing a question, you're able to let someone talk through their thought process and develop their opinion or guide their lack of understanding.

I enjoy learning in all facets of teaching styles.  It just depends on the subject or goal.  I will be sure to also incorporate all the learning styles when delivering instruction of any type!

Goals and objectives are sizeable and applicable to all blocks of instruction and tie into the overall end state.  Quality content and pushing students to develop their assumptions will ensure learning occurs.

I would appreciate this as a student, and I would enjoy getting to know the class as an instructor.  I also agree about participating in depth instead of just the night prior, crammed knowledge regurgitated the following morning.  When learning the students, you will learn what they are passionate about and what they can speak in depth about.

Mingling with the class can reduce the stress of the presentation.  It puts you on a more personal level with everyone and eases your mind about the barrier between teacher and student.  This is highly beneficial when teaching your peers (adults) because of the previous section where they discussed someone in the room will always be smarter.  You don't need to sell your knowledge or depth of a topic, you need to sell your passion and interest in it.

Respecting the students time is the most important take-away I got.  It's necessary to give feedback that they can apply to their next project or assignment.  If most learning occurs outside of the classroom, it's the responsibility of the instructor to match that effort with mentorship and guidance.
