One of the greatest things in my life is telling a student that they fixed a motocyle them not me and no one can take that away from them not even me.

 

I have found that the first thing an instructor needs to do is to convince the student that they are capable of doing this

 

i have heard people say that our students are our customers and i resist that mentality because it leaves out a very important element of our responsibilies. i believe that the students are our product and just as we would pay meticulous attention to our performance as a shop employee we should learn how to pay the same level of attention to our students development to track their progress assign grades and give awards appropriately

i enjoyed learning this stuff as a student and am so genuinely excited about being able to teach it that the experience becomes immensly entertaining. this is a key factor for the younger students that are increasingly addicted to entertainment

i never feel comfortable teaching a class untill i know what the matterial is and am able to relate to the students why we are learning what we are learning and how it will benefit tham in the feild
