This course is extremely relevant in the modern career college. Classroom management can be very challenging to any instructor. ED113 offers insight into proper management and how to alter a particular style of teaching an instructor may have to be a better classroom manager. It was very informative

Discussion Comment

If the course content of ED110 is followed, stress related to work and social life can be made easier to cope with. We bring so much stress upon ourselves that ultimately turns out to be not important or not all that important in the long run. Learning to deal with stress in different ways described in this course can help identify real stressors, learn to cope or eliminate the stress, and make you a more productive and healthy person.

rearranging desks in the classroom from time to time can also break up the monotony

Depending on the subject matter, class discussions are great. Time restraints are always a chal;lenge- trying to get in the lecture material and also interact with students in the given class time

ED104 covers much of what I have experienced during my years of teaching. The interaction with students keeps me fresh. Technology today is so different than when I was a student! Students in the 21st century have so many distractions outside of school. Being more aware of students and their problems/issues/wants makes me a better educator. Educational engagement is exciting!

For me, teaching is a passion, therefore, I put my all into every presentation. Students respond to the passion in a positive manner making the whole instructor student interaction a very gratifying experience.

ED 104 has some good information. A lot of the information reinforced my teaching stategies. In ten years of instructing students, you learn by trial and error to be a better instructor. ED104 can decrease the trial and error time.

I use humor in my lecture presentation to keep students engaged. When a topic gets a little heavy, a little humor can lighten the students mood. Walking around the class during lecture also helps. Changing the volume of your lecture can awaken a slumbering student or two. Standing or sitting behind a lecturn and speaking with a monotone will cause the most engaged student to fall asleep!
and as Lars noted, it is a good way for students to find common ground/interests with other students
Have each new student state three things about themselves - one being untrue. The rest of the class then tries to determine which is untrue. Everyone becomes invoved and it can be a lot of fun.
