Activity

I have learned to switch up my class presentations to keep students interested and engaged.

I have learned that success breeds success.  Therefore, if students are praised for a job well done, they will be encouraged to repeat their success.

I have learned it is very important to understand and develop the strengths of a diversified class.  Youthful learners have a great deal to contribute, but so do mature learners.  These strengths of students can greatly enhance the learning environment.

I understand it is very important to know the individual needs of my students in order for them to reach their greatest potential. I understand the value of youthful learners and more mature learners.

I appreciate knowing the different types of learning disabilities.  In particular, I now know the approximate numbers of students I teach who might want or need added support.  I have been given concrete methods to help them be successful in my class.

I have learned that monitoring of students can result in creating a positive learning environment.  Monitoring can keep small problems small and prevent them from growing into large problems.

I have learned the benefit for my students of moving around the classroom, especially during lecture.  It will help to keep their focus on what I'm teaching.

Extrinsic Rewards can lead to Intrinsic Motivators.

Adult learners need security and autonomy in their pursuit of their goals.

I plan to use two ideas from this program:  1) I will allow students to drop a low score, using their own discretion as to which one this will be.  2) I will increase the number of activities using "think, pair, share."
