Laura, All of your points are accurate and excellent. Your thoughts on the importance of accurate information for building a relationship is very true. It is difficult to recover a student's trust when they feel you have not given them accurate information. The other characteristics also build a relationship with students and have an equal place in the overall experience. Sincerely, Chyrl Chyrl Ayers
Nichole, This can be the situation when dealing with third parties. Many times the third party does not want to be involved in sharing personal information or they really do not know the full story. This can be a very delicate situation that requires the financial aid team to speak with the third party and explain the necessity for the statement. All you can do is try but ultimately it is the Financial Aid professional's decision. Sincerely, Chyrl Chyrl Ayers
Nichole, You comment on other colleges not releasing the transcripts is a comment I heard made last week at the Federal Student Aid Conference in Atlanta. Numerous colleges were asking ED Officials what could be done to resolve the holding of transcripts. Unfortunately, there was no real resolution. Sincerely,Chyrl Chyrl Ayers

Nichole, It is important for colleges to find the best method for their students. I do agree that it is critical for students to be engaged in their process and allowing them to participate at the correction level is a great step. Sincerely, Chyrl Chyrl Ayers

Joy, Your process seems very thorough and well thought out. I admire the approach you take to ensure students have a voice but respectful of the process. Your process seems to take into consideration the student and the integrity of the TIV programs. Sincerely, Chyrl Chyrl Ayers

Laura, I have seen your approach used successful in other FA Offices. It is critical that your process ensures the student's specific situation is reviewed and documented properly. More than one set of eyes is a real benefit. Sincerely, Chyrl Chyrl Ayers

Joy, You set up sounds like a great way to ensure your student gets his/her issue resolved or at least knows what is necessary to resolve it. It is great that you have a back up that you can rely upon to assist students through to resolution. Sincerely, Chyrl Chyrl Ayers
Joy, Interesting points. I am sure other participants will have comments related to their experience with the new verification categories. I agree with you that the categories seem to limit and isolate the real concern with the items reported and I prefer this new evaluation process. The V-6 category will continue to evolve over the 15/16 award year and I am interested to see where this category ends up and what requirements may become mandatory. Sincerely, Chyrl Chyrl Ayers
Laura, All of your thoughts and points are accurate. This Comment Code resulting in a CFlag can be difficult to resolve. The "knowingly and willfully" test can be difficult and is driven by the accuracy of the documentation provided. Sincerely, Chyrl Chyrl Ayers
Karen, All good points related to R2T4 and the need for timely/accurately process of the change in status through return of funds. Sincerely, Chyrl Chyrl Ayers
