By having a portion of the teaching where students are working together and learning together, sometimes peer teaching can be more effective than if I tried to teach them.

As educators, we need to be empathetic to situations but also make sure that our standards are communicated. These kids need to be heard but they also need to know there is still structure in the classroom.

We need to be able to identify what the problems are quickly and effectievly when it comes to learning. If students can work together to get an answer, it will help them problem solve in the future with a team.

I want to make sure that I encourage my students that it is ok to make mistakes so long as we are going in the right direction. We cannot address or learn from our mistakes if we do not know what those mistakes are. I want to try new things with them and encourage them for feedback so I know what best works for the students.

Making sure that we effectively communicate will help our students strive and better understand what we are trying to teach it.

Having a good and effective plan is important to the students retaining the information. Give the students the student their What is in it for Me? This will help give them purpose in the class and going forward.

One of the best ways to tell if students are retaining the information you are giving them is by nonverbal communication. If a student is disintrested or not understanding, you will be able to see it before they are able to communicate it just by their body language.
