using different testing techniques will help students understand and retain the knowledge better.

knowing the different styles of learning that your students have can help you with a better approach in your teachings. 

being open minded, enthusiastic and friendly will help students feel valued and keep them motivated.

to keep students focused always incorporate some of my experiences in my past careers to help them understand. 

coming up with a good plan to engage with a variety of students and keep them focused is easier when you have open ended questions. move around the classroom and keep everything interesting.   

break the ice with the students, let them know somethings about yourself and vice versa 

make it clear in the beginning of the class what is expected and what kind of goals you require.

come to class and show your professionalism, come dressed right speak clearly and confidently.
