Orientation needs to be valuable and follow the WBL guidelines. It needs to be worth the time and helpful.
The training plan should be a proactive versus reactive plan to help the student within a job placement. The training plan should constantly be updated after evaluations and self-reflections.
Work-based learning is a benefit to not only the school community but also the community. There are many tasks to be done. It is not solely on the cte teacher but the cte coordinator, administrators, and partners.
A few ideas are that it is important to have several people to be your support system to get the work base learning a reality. We need our champions. Then we need to stay up to date with research on work-based learning.
I like the different steps to getting students ready for work-based learning. It is a relief that it is a step-by-step process instead of all at once.

Career Ed Lounge is embedded in over eighty professional development portals serving the career and technical education community. Performance Groups in the Lounge are integrated with related learning opportunities offered on these portals. With a few exceptions, Performance Groups are also publicly available to any member of the Lounge to maximize peer-to-peer learning and performance outcomes.
