About me
Activity
I teach international students and what I refer to reverse planning, or having the student identify the problem or end state sometimes help them focus on the problem and the ways to work the porject
Thought provoking. More challenges to me the instructor to explore my approach based on nthe student backgrounde
I liked the concept of the scaffold approach.
A good rubric, I find hard to build for some courses. Once created, it is a great tool. I have found i get a better product if I let a peer review and make suggestions
I see the value of both. My experiences have been more to the objective methods (ie Flight ttraining).
From experience,I have found the importance of developing assessment points throughout the course. That allows me to check the progress at the same points for all students. Important for those who have required absences do to deployments or company travel.
The value of the appropiate tools is important
CTC
I have used a rubric many times in teaching courses.
I will say that designing the rubric is a challenge and I always past it by other peers to make sure it was going to be effective.
Trying to match everyday life, like the job and family is tough. There have been times that I would have preferred going to a class at the scheduled time.
It truly is a time management process.
I have taken online courses where the organization was not good. in these courses it was sometime very difficult to get clarification on assignments and there was no communication continuity.
