By understanding that all disabilities come in different ways, supporting each students success is essential so that they feel understood and motivated to succeed in the course.

By being a motivated instructor, we can help students stay motivated and help be their support by continuing to acknowledge their growth and progress in the course. 

I had never heard of the acronym REFOCUS, that is a great way to stay on track with the teaching goals!

As an instructor, it is important to stay enthusiastic about the subject of teaching, setting the tone for the classroom with help students stay motivated to do well and pass the course.

A great pointer is that when a student is struggling and also complaining, it is important to acknowledge their struggles and help them find a solution, however staying professional as an instructor and not get stuck in the complaint with the student.

Higher learning institutions require to accommodate students with disabilities, under section 504 and ADA. A student with disibilities would include anyone who has a physical or mental impairment that affects 1 or more life activities.

By over preparing for your class, it may help ease anxiety by having a back up plan if you feel you are forgetting something. Students want to feel that the instructor knows their stuff so it will also help the students feel confident in their instructor, if the instructor stays ahead of the game!

If a student has become too disruptive to the class and affecting lectures and other students' learning, then as an instructor it is okay to make the hard but right choice to remove the disruptive student from the class.

Students become motivated about starting a new course when they see that their course requirements are being personalized to their future careers.
