I always like to tell stories to break up the lecture. Also-no death by PowerPoint.  You must include different teaching modalities.

The idea of grouping older and younger students together is a good one.

I think, in general, the course pointed out some good guidelines for instructors to follow for helping students with their frustrations. But the one thing that is missing is you have to validate concerns- gone beyond just listening.

Using different styles and methods are so important. Making students get up and do interactive scenarios can really break-up the lectures

There is nothing worse than a teacher scrambling for needed instructional materials.  Arrive early and prepare checklists with long-term and immediate needs

I enjoyed the comments of modeling behavior and maintaining professionalism.  If the students see disinterested or unprofessional teachers, believe me, they become disengaged quickly.
