Once you have assessed your audience, use your own experiences to make information interesting and applicable in order to hold their attention which will increase their efforts.

In order to deliver content to a class, they will need to know that you know what you are doing as an instructor, are a professional, and can run the class. These delivery components are crutial in accomplishint that.

For the experienced instructor this is a realistic and informative learning tool.

I have done this for a long time but I struggled with stage fright more than any other element. Getting over the stress of being a "speaker" for me was a matter of being comfortable with the subject. Then it's only a conversation.

The things a student learns in orientation set the pace for their time in school.

There is a false belief that just because a person is in a management position they are an effective leader. Management and leadership are two different skills. Managing people has to do with scheduling, profiling, placing, and so on. Even though this is a vital part of business it does not address the human aspect of the group. Leaders must first be people; complete with vulnerabilities, flaws, and concerns just as the people they must lead. We all have the need to be lead by someone who we can relate to. How can you affect retention by your classroom and lab delivery methods?
What methods are effective for finding out what the students expect and letting them know what you expect for the next three weeks?
Employees can look at training as just another task to get out of the way or another load to their already full cart unless we show actual benefit for them. This benefit should be real and tangible. Something they can see, touch, feel. "What's in it for me?" is a legitimate question that should be expected. It also deserves an answer. What are some suggestions?
