I like the idea of doing a attendance and finding out how to pronounce names and then doing the 3x5 cards with their name, email, phone, and maybe one thing to note about them.  Having them sit in the same seats the first few weeks will help with memorizing the names and faces. 

Being well prepared for each class especially on day one where you are setting the stage for your students.  Getting to know them and their names and making connections is essential. 

As an educator and leader, I will continue to role model appropriate behaviors like dressing professionally, being on time and ready to start, and show confidence but not be the know it all.  I will always motivate the students to do their best and provide them with the tools and resources for them to be successful.
