At our institution, we deal only with adult learners.  Adults have to be allowed to make their own choices.  As facilitators all we can do is provide multiple opportunitit's and multiple formats to learn and allow them to make their choices.  I always contact students weekly reminding them of what is due and offering assistance.  If they choose to ignore the offer that is their adult decision and I honor their choice.
