I liked the suggestion about emailing/posting a short introduction to students. It will make the interaction more personal.  I had a short PPT with my pictures and an introduction. I think an audio or video recording can make a bigger impression and connect with students on a different level.

 

Comment on Gulsebnem Bishop's post: Yes, I realized I usually support students' participation but do not provide constructive feedback.  I think this is something I need to work on as well.  

In the past 6 months, I've been using a combination of Virtual Classroom, Blog, LSM, & videos.  I recently downloaded Camtasia so I'm interested in learning how to create short lectures and tutorials.  I also utilize break-out rooms to facilitate peer-to-peer knowledge transfer.  

Comment on Linda Arredondo's post: Comment on Vernise Walker's post: Use of technology brings many tangible benefits into the learning process.  I am using Google Meet to conduct 9 weeks Psychology 101 course to nursing students.  I found it difficult to assign any activities during the class as their expectation is just a lecture. I'm planning to change this by incorporating Break Out rooms and Polling functionality.
