Is important for all online instructors to understand what flaming is and how to handle this within the online classroom. Flaming is a hostile and insulting interaction between Internet users, often involving the use of profanity.
One aspect of the double edged sword of technological communication can be its anonymity. Anonymity is positive in some aspects- such as reducing self-consciousness when asking questions. However, anonymity can reduce social constraints that prevent some people from acting out inappropriately toward others.
HI Folks, this concept terms scaffolding within this content I most closely associate with Constructivist learning theory. The concept of course is that new learning is built upon previous knowledge and learning.

Hi Helen, It was EL 102. There were 5 modules. I believe that the learner profiles were in module 3.

The most helpful thing in the this course for me involved the examination of different learner profiles. I was actually dealing with several students at the time who fit the imposter and noisy student profiles. The course helped me to reexamine where these students might be coming from in their perspective. That shifted my paradigm and put me in a better place to coach them. I look forward to seeing how this scenario plays out. But results are likely to be more effective than if I'd simply ignored the situation or tried to strong-arm it.

Good Stuff!
