This section confirmed the importance of knowing my institution's transfer policy as it relates to incoming students and students that might be leaving to attend another institution. 

I had not thought about sitting in on a class to see how the material is presented by the instructor as a way to learn about that class. It is an interesting way to get a first-hand experience that can be shared with prospective students.

I learned that being prepared by knowing all of the statutes and guidelines of governing bodies and the institution is vitally important in the admissions process. Also, having a checklist of questions for the prospective student will help make the interview more productive.

I have learned that it is extremely important to learn all of the federal and state guidelines and statutes before providing admissions services to prospective students. It is also important to learn what specific guidelines related to my institution are before going forward.
