This material is very useful especially now where we are using online materials inplace of traditional classroom in person instruction.

 

Accessing materials on line saves time, paper and saves physical space. Access to view student progress are easy. Students may review material, share key points and links to other relevent materials are made available.

 

As instructors you strive to reach all students and must first identify individual learning styles and interests of your students.Some students have a lot of good questions which are welcome.Other students are quiet and don't provide any feedback to the instructor.As instructors you must adapt to the situation and needs of your group.

 

Objectives must be written and stated at the begining of the unit of instruction.The objective needs to be measurable. Example, the student will have 30 minutes to identify all defective components on a vehicle. The student will explain the purpose of each component in the starting system without using reference materials. The student will answer a 20 question multiple choice quiz without using any reference material. The minimum passing score shall be 70%. The student will locate and identify all components of a charging system using the component locator in an online service manual.

 

Lesson plans help instructors develop learning objectives and keep the focus of a particular activity moving towards a measurable student outcome. Lesson plans are a documented frame or structure of what will be shown (media, reference materials) ,how it will be shown,How much time will dedicated to the training,and how will student performance be measured. The outcomes must be measurable. Examples, students will disassemble an engine using hand tools provided.Students will identify all major components.Students will reassemble engine completly within the 4 hour period. As an instructor, it  benefits both students and teacher to know something about your students prior experiences,goals,and learning styles. Build your training lessons to the needs of your group.Develop ongoing feedback with students,be available  to  address any questions and concerns. Give quizes and provide constructive comments were needed.
