I think this is a good tool 

keep the students interested, good communication

engage the student vary your teaching style

I would say a little of both

asses the tools we have and use them appropriately 

types of motivators

allow interaction with students in laying out the course objectives

interact with the students and learn there learning style

Be positive introduce yourself and explain your achievements 

being prepared  for class
