During our Adobe Certification testing the students are a multiple choice test portion and a skills portion of the test. I think this gives students a chance to express their skills in both ways of testing.

I really haven't thought about incorporating planned questions into my lesson planning, but I really believe that would help to motivate the students to discover answers on their own and not expect me to always provide the answer.

Net Generation is a new term for me. I really didn't even know they had assigned a name to students born after 1980. These students are most certainly surrounding by technology at all times. We as instructors have to learn to adapt to teach them. They are so hyper-focused on things that have screens I think we have to lots of time in our shops with equipment they can use and get them from behind the screen.

The information about the three step method was very interesting. It was straight forward - tell what is going to be told, tell what needs to be told, and tell what was told. I think this will help me in planning my weekly lesson plans.

During this session, this was the most impactful information to me...Making reasonable accommodations for students with disabilities should never mean watering down the curriculum or expecting less in terms of outcomes or demonstration of mastery. The methods that you and your students use to get to those outcomes may vary, but no one is well served by lowering final expectations. I really thought that even with the accomodations it would have some impact on the curriculum and outcome.

I really never knew exactly what and how obsessive compulsive disorder really works. I better understand ways to redirect students that suffer from this disorder.

I better understand that a student with a disability doesn't mean the student can't learn, they just learn and process differently than others. I believe that seating and the peer helper system really make a difference in my classroom and I will continue to use those.

I was interested to know that a buddy system could be used as an accomodation for some students.

I was really surprised to learn the student or parent must identify and come forward with the documentation before the accomodations can begin. I do like that everyone is supposed to meet and get on the same page for the betterment of the student's learning.

I learned that there are a wide array of psychological or emotional disabilities and there are lots of different methods to cope and make accommodations in the classroom to help them be successful in their future workplaces. And I also learned that medications do not cure ADHD or similar disorders it just helps to manage it.
