Computer literacy is so common today but students still miss on what and how to navigate through the school functions. I always take time during orientation to help them focus on where to find what they need.

I stress on life-long learning which I slinked to professional skills and being open to challenges.

I give students opportunity to work as a team and emphasize on the importance of each person’s contribution in the group.

Writing is not just communicating what students have learned, but this is a means of learning and expressing what they have learnt. The stages of writing process were very helpful as this determines the kind of feedback to be given.   

Teaching needs to include soft skills, attitudes and social competencies. Guiding students in self-management is very important. Teachers should help students grow to become self-directed learners which enables the students to become autonomous learners with inquisitive minds. Critical thinking is hard but I always tell my students to think “WHY”. Although there are methods to foster creativity in teaching, it is still difficult to help every student to critical thinking.
