Any online use of a student's interaction while enrolled in educational programs should be only disclosed with their approval. Even accolades could be subject to FERPA related challenges. 

The records obtained while the student is enrolled remain protected for the individual's life and are only released upon proper request for future endeavors. 

Although all aspects of privacy should follow the same rule of keeping confidential any of the student's information, there are times and reasons for educational staff to view student records. Knowing how to verify the circumstances and maintain the integrity of the staff and students is upheld by knowing how to do so. 

Keeping information confidential is a base for safety and respect that everyone should be able to feel confident about not having third party access.
