We use food as one of the class projects in anatomy. The students choose a system and then create that system using different types of foods. The students are very creative in the food choices. We have had jello respiratory systems, pasta urinary tracts and GI systems made out of cake. The students label their creations with. The best part once graded we get to eat the project.

My class enjoys playing two different games with terminology words. We have Anatomy Jingo which is a game board set up as a bingo card with different pictures of the anatomy. Questions are then asked relating to one of the systems. The first person to get "bingo" wins. We also play the old game "hangman" with terminology words. I let the student that wins go to the board and set up the spces for the next terminolgy word. They really enjoy both games.

I find when I teach Medical Coding to the Medical Assistant students I get a better response by working in a group. I usually have 5 to 8 students in a class. I will sit at the same table with all of the students. We will all work on the coding assignments together. It's interesting in the coding field how we come up with the same answers but found it in different ways. The students really get involved with the assignments. I usually give a new assignment and I would be coding it for the first time. The students find… >>>
