Students tend to be more career-focused and motivated by instructors who share their "war stories". Having "real-world" industry experience fosters trust and discipline. When you share your professional experiences, students also tend to have more respect for their instructor because you have displayed yourself as a Subject Matter Expert. 

This course provided a keen overview on the various types of tests instructors need to consider in order to assess student success. We should not be rigid in thinking there is one style that is appropriate for all student learners, and we should input varying formats since our students have different styles of learning.

Learning is ongoing for all of us and it is critical to continuously assess where we are as instructors and where we are going.
