Diversity is complex, but creating spaces to talk about differences never hurts. It's also important to note that some things that certain people find offensive might not be to other people, even if they're from the same minority - that's why getting to know individuals matters.

I appreciate the honesty and realism of this course. There's a lot of great communication and business tactics out there, and building a positive relationship with your boss is a good first move. But as the last section details, sometimes you have to deal with difficult people  - and it may be your boss. I enjoyed the distinction of what drives different types of bosses and how understanding their personality, motivation, and goals, can help narrow down effective strategies to work with them, even going so far as turning what seems a negative first impression into a trusting partnership.
