There are times when I cannot get a response from a certain student. Is there a best way to handle this?

@023kerpen Same here. The students who do not do well on the written assignments are also the ones who do not listen to the online lectures at all. While we have no direct tracking system, it is easy to tell from the written assignments who listened and who did not.

@Bklyngrl Wouldit help the students to take a computer skills assessment before actually starting the class?

Does anyone think that requiring students to have some sort of contact with instructors on line is a good idea? Could this be integrated into grading and be presented as a graded part of the class?

@SherryErney PowerPoints can be useful, however my experience shows that too many people consider the PPT the presentation, rather than a tool to support the presentation.

@barryw The goal I think is to have students learn subject matter proficiency in a timely and effective manner.

One of the issues I see here is using computer/adaptive learning in large part because students are not well prepared for higher education. Why not use this method in grade and high school rather than waiting for post secondary?
