I agree that we should all have a plan to manage stress in our work environment.  The largest component is handling students that are not prepared to receive the material that we have prepared for them.  We must all count to 10 on this one.  However,  please recognize that 90% of the time the issues that block students from full participation are not related to the faculty.  We have to work to overcome those barriers by partnering with our students.  We should partner in a manner that overcomes obstacles

The best method for study involvement is to actually simulate the work environment in the class room via classroom projects.  It is critical that the student have the opportunity to role play different work functions.  This teaches responsibility and accountability.  The tasks also brings out some of the critical or core skills that need to be improved.
