Effective engage is one of the keys to a a successful on-line class.

Effectively managing an on-line class requires time, effort, organization and proactive actions by the instructor.  While all of these items are also required with a traditional class, an effective on-line class may requires the same level or more.

The information regarding hwo to handle asynchronous vice synchronous discussions was valuable.

I plan to beef up my bio with things that may be more relateable to my students (hobbies, outside interest, etc.)  Hopefully something will help in building those relationships that are helpful to the success of the class/student. 

I can't say I learned anything new, but the reinfocing thoughts were also very worthwhile.  Most noticeably, teachers and students need to be trained, students do better when they feel supported, teachers are more successful when they are proactive and engaged.
