The section of Model 2: General Strategies for Student Retention that spoke to me the most as an instructor was: "Making a big deal of a small success will assist in making the big successes even more important to students who are unsure about continuing in school." After going through this section, I now have a conviction of wanting to do better at "make a big deal" of the small successes of the students. These small praises along the way will help the student along being keeping them encouraged…letting them know they can make it.
