Know that students come from different situations and experiences.  Be aware of different types of needs from basic to personal.  What are the students' goals and aspirations and how can you help them achieve them.

Provide different learning opportunities and styles..... and practice.

Introduce myself and tell a little about my background and career path.  Then have the class introduce themselves and share something about their goals and reason for entering nursing.  Have them put their names on a card and make a tent so I can learn their names more easily.

Be prepared.  Know material.  Go over syllabus in detail outlining objectives.  Get there early.  Get to know your students and pronounce their names correctly.

Technical, Professional, and Personal.  But don't get too involved.  Lead by example and always be professional.
