Assessment is nothing more than doing a inventory of your presentations by using many methods. Be formative where there is a collection of students advancements. Summative is more overall evaluation.

Students need to get as much knowledge as they can find it only makes hands on easier. Getting as much knowledge as possible is important. Somewhere along the line they need hands on. Most of these students in the Trades are there because they weren’t the best at sitting down and doing book work that has to be kept in mind

Online instructor must keep it interesting by using different strategies. Be it games, discussion, quizzes. Trying to make it as close to a f2f classroom as possible

My idea of constant communication is having one on one time with students who are having a particular problem with course. So if I communicate with them through discussion boards or emails. Keep them involved and talk about progress it will help all my students in the long run.

It’s hard to decide between asynchronous or synchronous  all depends how you want to run a virtual classroom would you have more control to be synchronous. Or would students be more at ease with asynchronous which they can learn at there own pace so to say?

I find you need multiple evaluations, I think you also have the way the evaluation is done.

Feedback is one of the strongest way letting a student know what they need to work

I like the idea of dynamic syllabus to get students more involved in their education also as far as scaffolding all students should use past experiences as a way of advancing themselves. What’s the old saying dejav.

I believe in consistency also framework. I also have used chunking in a classroom setting and believe it will be a great advantage with online instruction. In my profession 5-10 min. film clips work the best.

Online education should be a challenge and reward, but keeping students attention is on commitment by the student and leadership by the instructor Instrutor
