Getting everyone on the same page can be difficult. It seems as though each group has its own agenda. identifying common interest seems to be one way to encourage people from different groups to work together.

I think EQ is related to accountability. People high in EQ seem to have greater control over their emotions. People low in EQ want to blame everyone else for their problems. For example, other people make them mad. This is significant because if a person goes through life blaming others, they never assume accountability of the results they achieve, or don't achieve and consequently don't address their issues.

I find that people in general including students always think the way they see themselves or the world is correct. to me, one of the greatest challenges is to get a person to question his/her own beliefs.

I have found that many students don't really understand how demanding a professional position can be. Far too often, they use their friends as a reference group to determine proper behavior. That may be ok, but generally a student is better off if he/she uses people that make up their profession as a reference group, or in their absence, their professors. Recognizing this places a significant responsibility on our shoulders to help students be successful.
