Being organized prepares you to have a smooth running day. However, the day could change at any moment and head in an alternative direction that you weren't prepared for. It's better to prepare yourself to adapt to changes at any time.

How to be a good instructor

It doesn't matter where or what you are teaching(33% acting, 33% policing, 33% teaching). I heard this from a superintendant with over 30 years experience in education as a teacher and principle.

Get to the root of their problems and they will be more focused in the class. Most of the time just listening to them vent is enough.

Mixing Tests

I think using different tests throughout the course would be most beneficial as it will cater to all types of students and their testing abilities.
