Activity
I currently employ extrinsic motivation by presenting students with a certificate of achievement for perfect attendance.
Being on time and well prepared for class will enhance student security. Also empowering the students to have a choice in what they are learning and in what order just may improve autonomy.
I have incorporated technology such as: a TV monitor, PowerPoint, YouTube videos, Cengage videos, and Quizizz game show into my everyday lessons.
I have personally found that both the course and individual lesson objectives need to be clear, concise, and easily understood by students.
I have learned the rationale behind creating a highly effective and efficient lesson plan that will keep me on track.
As a seasoned instructor I find it is important to get to know your students in order to gauge their level of knowledge. Along with being prepared to effectively and efficiently deliver the the course content within the allotted time frame.
I typically refer the students to the syllabus regarding the policy on late or missing assignments so that there are no misunderstandings.
While getting to know my students on the 1st day of class I usually give them a pretest to find out what they know or don't know about the program or course.
Creating PowerPoint slides with 3 - 5 main ideas or key points in bullet statements.
Arriving to the classroom with enough time to easily arrange the materials for the students. Plan and organize for possible field trips and guest speakers.
