Online learning can still be personable.  With todays environment all the more crucial to have that human connection when learning remote.

 

When giving feedback I think you shouldnt go in assuming anything. Look at facts. Did your boss not do something correct. Did the team you manage not turn in the report on time. All facts. If I assume that the guy whose eyes are always closed at the computer terminal isnt going to finish his report and I initiate a feedback session before the I can see if its true,am I wasting my time?
I have been asked to speak at a graduation on a few ocassions with little or no time for preparation. Going thru this course has given me some excellent tools that although not given time to prepare should help me. I think the "hook" is something that can be applied to anything you will talk about to a group. Any other suggestions when asked to present with no prep time?

I currently teach at a technical school where most students are fresh out of high school. There are 6 hour lectures on some days which challenges their attention span. For review they take a multiple choice practice test and keep the answer sheet. They then break up into two teams. I draw a baseball diamond on the whiteboard with targets scattered throughout. They then take turns coming up to the plate and throw a suction ball at the white board. I then ask the player what is the answer for question number 15 for example. (or any random number) Only… >>>
