I learned how important it is to keep track of your graduates and to get feedback from them. I think the one thing that I learned that I did not know and was impressed by is that some employers will actually offer scholarships to employees. I think this is a great motivator for any graduate who wants to grow in their career field and will encourage outstanding work.

It is important to know all accomplishments and skills whether it is for work or personal. It is important to know who you are and to be able to express this on your resume clearly as well as in your interview. Do not be afraid to negotiate your salary this is how to be sure you are getting what you are worth, even if you just started your career. It is my job to help make sure students understand this and have all the tools they need to walk into an interview confidently and prepared.

I learned that it is important to make sure your student has everything they need to succeed. This will allow them the opportunity to get the best job and income that they are qualified for. They must be prepared and educated on what their career field requires of them and my job is to make sure I equip them with as many tools as I can to help them get there.

That Career Services is the backbone of the entire institution. Without a properly planned and laid out Career Services Department the entire institution could fail. By working with my team or department to carefully do our research and understand how all departs function and what role they play. Will help better educate and pass that knowledge on to other potential students, current students, or faculty so they are able to get what they may need.
