Compassion, and patience along with coming alongside the student is the key to making adults feel comfortable.

Showing genuine concern for the student by keeping abreast of their grades, offering feedback often and solutions to their struggles

When introducing myself and a new course, I am sure to include something personal (not too personal) that will get their attention.  Lead with what they will have to present after I'm done with my introduction.

I've learned a new strategy, regarding the online student.  They have different needs than the on ground learner.  There may possibly be home distractions, so the instructor must pay attention to every student

Communication is key in every asppect of education.  From how the instructor delivers their presentation to what the student retains.

One great misconception about online learning is that it will "fit into my schedule" and be "easy". In this case the student would not do well, as an online course  is partly the instructor, partly the student.

To remember that students learn at a different pace.  Make sure the fundamentals are included iin the syllabus

It is important no to lose attention of the students online. To frequently ask questions, and allow participation.

How to keep the students engaged. How to assert my authority online.  Traditional style, is what I'm used to, yet Online  facilitation is the future.

Peer/Self reflection and "expert for a day" are incorporated in my style.  To check knowledge, I ask the students to teach in their own words.
